Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
With great joy and gratitude to God, we join the universal Church in celebrating the election of our new Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV! Elected today by the College of Cardinals after prayer to the Holy Spirit, our new pope begins his ministry as the successor of St. Peter and shepherd to Catholics around the world. He is formerly known as Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost OSA, a native of Chicago.
Let us lift him up in prayer as he embraces the sacred responsibility to lead, to serve, and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ with courage and love. We will offer a special prayer of thanksgiving and intercession for Pope Leo XIV at all our weekend Masses. May the Lord bless him abundantly and grant him wisdom, strength, and peace.
