Dear St. Thomas Community,
On this Easter Monday as we continue to rejoice in the resurrection of the Lord, we also enter a period of mourning. The Holy Father Pope Francis died this morning, April 21, at 7:35am Rome time. He was 88 years old and has been our Pope since March 13, 2013.
Please join me in prayer to thank God for the leadership and priesthood of Pope Francis. May he now be admitted to God's heavenly kingdom and enjoy the fullness of eternal life promised to all who serve the Lord faithfully. May his witness of mercy, humility, and care for the poor continue to inspire the Church he loved so deeply.
We will join together in prayer for a Holy Hour and Rosary tomorrow evening, Tuesday, April 22, at 7:00pm in church. In the meantime, his picture will be displayed on the altar in church and our bells will toll throughout the week in his memory.
